What happens when we don’t know where we are going, but where we have been? How willing are we to trust simple pleasures?
Embark on a culinaryjourneyacrossDC on Sunday June 10th to explore the intersection between gastronomy and neurology. Your guides for this 2-part evening will include Dr. Ogi Ogas and a roster of Coterie Partner Chefs and Mixologists, including Kyle Bailey, Peter Smith, Nicholas Stefanelli, Ed Witt, Frederik de Pue, Julia Ebell (Rasika West End), Gina Chersevani, Jon Harris, and Jared Boller (Lani Kai, NY).
The evening will culminate at a Culinary Salon hosted at T-Square, where you will dine on dishes designed to reflect the discussion on human proclivity for anger and aggression led by Dr. Ogas, a computational neuroscientist and co-author of A Billion Angry Brains and a Billion Wicked Thoughts, who has been described as a "modern day Kinsey."
In Wicked Thoughts, Ogas analyzed the world's largest dataset on human sexuality to identify the true differences between male and female desire. In Angry Brains, he once again uses unprecedented online data to examine the true nature of human anger and discovers that anger loves an audience.
He will explore the difference between male and female anger and how they're designed to combat each other. He shows what kind of anger compels us to share our rage with others, and how the transmission of anger from brain to brain depends on who and why. Putting all these together, he reveals why anger loves an audience and why this produces grave risks and dangers for all of us--adults, children, and businesses--on the Web.
The Coterie, Zagat and Uber will take you on a culinary journey, and challenge your senses.
